Latest news: * RIFU will be playing at this years Storås Festival. This will be an awesome experience, and we're all looking forward to seeing the great Propagandhi (who's also playing) live for the first time. "I like to party fucking hard!" * Little RIFU-activity the last 12 months. This due to our bassplayer Erlend moving up north to Bodø to study journalism and the rest of the bands laziness. But we haven't been totally dorment, we did a very nice show at Spasibar in Oslo and a gig at Larsen here in Trondheim during the winter. * A new guitarplayer is in place! Bent Inge "Bals" Borgund from Trondheim-based bands STûK and Gerd Berg will be replacing the axe after Stian. * The US-release of the "Bombs for food, mines for freedom" album is set to August 8th. We're exited! * Sadly Stian has decided to leave RIFU to focus fully on his band Jimbo Jones. Stian co-wrote and recorded the Bombsessions EP and the Bombs for Food LP, and went on three european tours with RIFU. Thanks and lots of luck, Stian! This means that RIFU is yet again on the lookout for a new guitarplayer. * The original summertour in the UK and France was cancelled, instead we're doing two weeks in Germany and Austria (and a couple in Benelux). Please check out the shows section for dates. Due to some internet-trouble,we haven't been able to update the pages in a long while. We are sorry for this. Looking forward to this "vacation of a tour" in the dripping hot middle-europe. In the midst of the World Cup! Please drop us a line in the guestbook, and tell us how much we sucked the night before.. Prost! from RIFU * We're back from the tour in
one piece, not a cent richer, but filled with good memories! Met alot of
great people and bands, and Tore (from Stian's band
Jimbo Jones)
joining us in Leipzig and staying the whole tour through surely helped
keeping our spirits on top! Thanks for the help, Tore! * OK! We're off to tour Germany, Austria and Switzerland! With a bag full of tricks. Looking forward to meeting alot of good friends and hopefully making some new ones. And, of course, rocking our asses off on stage! Check out the tourdates to see if we'll be rocking our asses off on a stage near you! Cheers! * Last "homeshow" before the tour was at the UFFA Hardcore Weekend 18th of February. See festival-poster A great gig with an enthusiastic audience. Nice afterparty with some of the members of Oslo-band Brawl.
* We did a split-show with
Torch at Samfundet in Trondheim on the 4th of February. A fun
night, even though we didn't play at our best this evening. Always nice
hanging with our friends in Torch. * Sign up to RIFU and Go Kart
Records newsletter! * We had a nice trip to
Bergen on 13.-15. Jan, when we played at the studenthouse Kvarteret on
Saturday 14th. Not often we get free plane-tickets and hotelrooms, plus a
nice payment, when on a gig. But this was an exception. Other than a very tiresome, five-hour soundcheck
-
the trip was a raging success. * The release-party for
the new record on UFFA 7 jan. was great. Lots of people and a good party.
However, the aftermath proved to be bitter. The next day we discovered
that Øyvinds beloved Telecaster had been stolen during the night!
Basdards! Looks like we have to buy Øyvind a new guitar before the tour is
starting Feb 21. * Vi spiller på Klubben på Samfundet Lørdag 4. februar med våre venner i Torch. * Brand new webpages! Sweet..Press/contact and music sites now added! * Go-Kart is working on a video for the song "Let them eat bombs" from the new record. With exclusive footage from Iraq, taken from a documentary produced by Go-Kart Films. Hopefully finished by the end of January.. * Vi skal ha slippfest på UFFA den 7. Januar og feire den nye plata vår "Bombs for food, mines for freedom". Support: Sexy Police. *
Vi spiller på Blæst Lørdag 10 desember sammen med Magnum Maids. * "Bombs for food, mines for freedom" will be officially released on the 23rd of January. * Next european tour will be from 23th of february to 16th of march. A small UK-tour is planned for later this spring.
* Finally finished the new album "Bombs for
food, mines for freedom". Both mastering and artwork. We're waiting for Go
Kart to set a release-date, hopefully before the year ends. See the
full artwork here.
